write a dialogue between two parents while critically reflecting and emphasising on the need of developing civic sence in the children's
Answers
Explanation:
Parent 1 : Hello Mr Prakash. How are you? I have seen you after some time.
Parent 2 : I am fine now. You are right, i have come to shop, infact out of home after couple of weeks.
Parent 1 : Was everything alright?
Parent 2 : Actually i was hit by a young kid who was riding his bike without any civic sense. He hit by arm and i fell on the road. And then instead of helping me, he started quarrelling that i was blocking his way.
Parent 1 : Oh, thats bad. These days our children are leaving behind ethical and moral values and its high time that they should be taught about civic sense
Parent 2 : I absolutely agree with you
Parent 1: Hello! I just wanted to ask you if you are also having a difficult time talking to children about civic sense.
Parent 2: Yes, I am too. I don't understand why they don't think it is important.
Parent 1: It's probably because we order them to clean up, to stand in a queue and other such things.
Parent 2: Yes, you are right. Maybe we need to explain it to them rather than order them about and expect them to follow the instructions.
Parent 1: We could present them with examples and situations and then ask for their feedback.
Parent 2: Children are smarter than we think.
Parent 1: True, and they learn better from making their own observations.
Parent 2: Yes. Once they see how civic sense can make such a big difference, they will themselves understand its importance
Parent 1: And isn’t that what makes us different from Americans and Australians and others?
Parent 2: Oh yes! They know how to take care of their country. They don’t push others or litter around.
Parent 1: Well, when we are visiting their countries, we don’t throw garbage around either, but something happens to people when they come back to their own countries.
Parent 2: They forget everything good that they learnt abroad.
Parent 1: We need to remember all the good things about civic sense and follow them ourselves. Only then will the children follow those things too.
Parent 2: Yes. So, it is time for us parents to become even more conscious about how we behave, before expecting children to behave themselves.
