Ritu : Hello Riya! Your marks in English is not up to the mark. You should give much time for learning English. This language has emerged as the only Global language nowadays. In fact, English is now the key instrument of communication between individuals, business concerns and nations.

Riya : Yeah Ritu. You are correct. I will try to give my best. I know it is now being felt that learning English is essential for professionals to survive the national and international competitions. It is also being felt that to speak or write English, it's not essential to study the works of Shakespeare, Milton or Wordsworth.

Ritu : But keeping in view the present need of the time, a few Indian Universities have introduced communicative English at the undergraduate level. And language experts believe that learning a language without literature is defective.

Riya : Yeah. I agree with you Ritu. That's why most universities are continuing with their age-old English syllabus with focus on literature.
