A day volunteering at Happy Paws Animal Shelter
Last weekend, on 28th November, I visited Happy Paws to volunteer for them that day. I was excited and got up early that day. I thought of helping the dogs and animals in the farm and shelter facility. Moreover, I reached there at 09:20 am. I got disturbed as soon as I entered the shelter. Everything on the social media was just a hoax to promote their boarding business in the shadow of rescuing and sheltering the animals. They charged for their boarding 500 rupees per day. I was feeling bad for the animals that were caged and dirty. I also got to know that they preferred adopting expensive breeds of dogs and later, bred them to produce more babies for making money. I was totally disgusted. Still, I stayed to know more about their functioning so that I could come in here to rescue the innocent souls. Anyhow, seeing all this made me more motivated to help the babies and I washed all the animals, removed their ticks, accessed them multiple times. I was tired and decided to visit the place every weekend so that I can keep a check on the troubled souls. I have also filed an anonymous report against the shelter. Let's see when an effective action takes place. Until that time, I will be attached to the club.
I feel sad and want to change all this.
