Dear Diary:
Today I am going to share with you my feelings about my visit to a school for the blind. The school conducted this trip as a part of social service and moral education class. I was really moved to see these special children with visual disabilities. I saw them studying with unique focus. Though technology has developed special audio and Braille books for them, but still their deprivation was tangible. The one thing I liked the most about them was their zest for life. They seemed to be least affected by their deprivation. Interacting with them I felt so humble! I also realized how fortunate I am to have this blessing of vision. I wish all those children and all the people in the world who are suffering from visual deprivation all the success, health, and contentment. God bless all of them!

I had medley of emotions flowing through my body.
I felt thankful.
Thankful to have a family. To have parents.
I met kids of 6–12 year old’s who have never known their parents. They were too young. Too innocent. I don’t know how to put it into words.. but, imagine you wake up one day at the age of 4/6 and your family is gone. You’ve been put into this world where there is no one whom you can truly call as yours. You’ve no one who reminds you that you are loved. You got no place to go.
How will you survive? Whom will you look up to? Will anyone be willing to help you out through this? What will future hold for you?
Scary right? Exactly.
I felt good about myself.
That feeling that I had when I saw these kids who got all excited and become insanely happy just by looking at us visit them. That feeling is magical.
Honestly, we didn’t do anything that special either. Just carried two cakes that cost less than our regular weekly expenses. That moment when they all screamed “Thank you!” was insane.
May be, the mere fact that someone came to see them made them happy, I suppose.
That felt good. Real good.
