What a hell has been unleashed for us! Are we not human beings? How does that dictator treat us? Has his mind gone berserk? Does he have God's fear or not? How he has us rounded up like cattle to be butchered! Dear God, why this turn of events? We don't have any sense of security among us. We live in constant fear of being chased by the Nazis. They pack us like herds in trains bound for concentration camps. My entire being shudders on hearing the horrific torture some of us undergo just because he has a fancy for it! What are the rest of the world doing? Why are they not uniting against this demon and deliver us out of his clutches? We are losing our families; some of us running like mad men for safety. Though there are some people helping us. But that shrewd hater of our community even tortures them who give us shelter. O God! I pray to you to please intervene, or our entire race will be wiped out of this planet!

Dear Diary
Today I started reading Anne Frank's diary. I was really shocked and angry at the injustice committed against the 2nd World War period to the Jews. I was even more sad and disturbed when I thought about the 13 year old girl who suffered all these atrocities.
The massacres of the Jews began in 1938, but things became worse by 1940. By that time Holland was occupied by the Germans. They passed a set of appalling anti-Jewish laws. Just imagine, the Jews had to wear a yellow-star to mark their religion. They had to surrender their bicycles. Their means of  conveyance were terribly restricted. They were banned from using trams; neither could they drive their own vehicles.
Even their day-to-day movements were restricted. They could only shop from three to five o' clock, that too only from the shops specially marked 'Jewish shop'. The Jews were forced to turn in by eight o' clock, even from their own gardens. How very horrendous!
The Jews were banned from all sorts of public entertainments like theaters and cinemas. As if this is not enough, they were forbidden to engage themselves in any kind of public sports activities like swimming, tennis etc. They were not allowed to visit their Christian friends.  if they wanted to socialize they could so within their own community. The Jews had separate schools. In short, their freedom was restricted terribly. Poor people! They could not do anything that made human lives easy and enjoyable.
Dear Diary, what do you think of such a situation? Simply Ghastly, isn't it?
