Dear Diary:

Today was the festival of Dussehra. It is a colorful and vibrant festival; it is celebrated almost all across India in different forms. In south, east, and northeast Indian states it is celebrated as Durga Pooja.

In northern India it is celebrated to commemorate victory of Lord Rama over Ravana. Before Dussehra there are Navratras; the cities, towns, and villages hold fairs. Ramlila, the story of life of Lord Rama is staged at various places. Children go to watch it. People go to fairs. They buy toys and eat many delicacies.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dussehra Festival celebrations that concluded a few days ago. The entire region was decorated like new bride. The school was off for a week. Every day I went to the market with my parents to do shopping. In the evening we would go to see Ramlila. The festival culminated with the burning of effigies of Ravana. Kumbkaran, and Meghnath. However, one tragedy also took place today. Approximately 60 people who were watching burning of effigies were run over by speeding train. I think people should be careful while celebrating festivals.

Dear Diary,

Do you know Dussehra is a very big and one of the main festivals of India.

It is belived that Lord Rama had killed

The Rakshas King Ravana on the way of Dussehra.Every year we burn the

Effiges of The Ravens,His brother Kimbhkarna and Ravan's son Meghnath. There there Rakshas sybolise the darkness and negativity and by burning their effigies we destry the negativity from our lives and we are ready to accept positive changes in our lives.

Goodnight dear diary
