Dear diary,
I don't talk to you regularly, sorry for that, but there is something special that I want to share with you.
Yesterday, we went to the summer camp mum had selected for me. I admit having expected a flat with modern infrastructure. But, the shock on my face on seeing the broken down shack was indescribable. Mum had left me in the middle of the night in a jungle to stay in a hut that was falling away! I was shouting even while her car drove away. Nervous after having behaved like a mad person, I timidly entered the hut, promising myself to kill the first living thing I saw. But I saw no one. Suddenly, BOOM! People appeared from behind couches, under tables and inside cupboards, all laughing. I was asked to introduce myself, which I did reluctantly. "This ain't a summer camp," I told myself,"this is a barbarians' camp." But the next day changed my view of it. I was asked to be the first to do the "task" and the task turned out to be rope climbing. I thought, " isme kya maza hai?( What's fun in this?)" But I soon was enjoying it. Next we went bungee jumping and zorbing. But my favourite was the time we went rafting. On the insistence of our care taker, we were singing the nursery rhyme "Row, row, row your boat" while doing the "task" and suddenly we felt like little kids again. I'll never forget this rhyme or the experiences I had at this camp or the fun we had in the night. The night ended this awesome day perfectly. As we danced and ate roast fish, which we had caught earlier that day, we felt like we belonged there. I had forgotten that this wasn't my life, it was just a get away. This made departure difficult.
The shock was evident on my face when I saw my mum driving in. I didn't want to leave, but I had to. I bid farewell to all the caretakers and staff of this wonderful camp and was off on my journey back to my real life, away from life itself, because what "life" was, I had experienced right there, in that broken down shack.
