Today is the special day of mine. It’s my 75th birthday. Now, I am 75 year old. Weather is very charming here. Cool breeze is blowing. Today, I took myself out and went to park. I am used to go this park from 25 year. Whenever time, I used to go to park, I feel the cool breeze and used to enjoy beauty of greenery and voices of birds. I am 75 year old, and free from all the disease. It is because of daily exercise. But young generation does not enjoy the beauty and charm of life. They are always busy in modern technologies. The reason is that, they are caused by diseases at young age.

Dear Diary,
Life always surprises or stuns by showing us that which contrasts our thoughts! Wonder why life is like this…..Today is my 75th birthday. The happiness of having seen this world for the last 75 years both pre- and post-independence together with being blessed with a good health at this age was overshadowed with sadness of having to spend even this day all alone! Like always my children and grandchildren did not get the time to spend with me, not even today! My son and daughter who are settled and happy in their life and so much involved in their life, that all they can “afford’ is a phone call a week.
The call which I wait patiently for 6 whole days to complete……..My grandchildren and my relationship is so formal that they behave as if I was their subordinate and they my boss!!! Technology is worshipped by them, but for real people they barely have any emotions. I remember those days, when my children were small. My parents used to stay with me, since I was their only son, my sister being married and settled in Delhi. I had a great bonding with my parents and balanced personal life and professional life such that I ensured they my parents had my love, kindness, and strength, so that they feel secure and confident.
My children too were attached to my parents and without hearing to their grandmother’s fascinating fables they would not sleep…..As a big family we were so happy! But today, alas, such bonding has vanished…in this fast-paced life people do not have time for their loved ones or for displaying affection assuring them that they care and love them and would always be there as pillars of support for them. Nevertheless by the end of the day, I must learn to accept my situation. If loneliness is destined, be it so. This would not stop me from wishing nothing but happiness, prosperity, good luck and good health for my children and grandchildren. This day passed as usual, but a hope that tomorrow would be better than today always gleams in my eyes.
