ANSWER:

Diary entries are a segment of writing which is organised by date. The entries within diary are in what way one organise his/her thoughts, opinions, and feelings and how he/she pours these into the diary. Diary entries are more like chapters of a book.

It was a very hectic day for me. We had visited the Rameshwaram refugee camp where Tamil people from Srilanka were staying. It was around 4 pm in the evening. The very first impression of the camp was very disturbing. That sight had bothered me extremely. Many of themwere Sri Lankan civil war refugees who had to escape terror and violence in their nation for a safe living. Most of them had lost someone or theirentire family to the civil war. However, it was disheartening to see that the purpose they had come for, that is, fighting for survival was not very satisfying.Their only chance for survival was coming to these refugee camps in hope of eventually resettling in another nation.

This was a very lengthy process, ranging anywhere from some years to maybe even a lifetime. I had spoken to a couple of refugees and asked them how they had felt about being in this refugee camp. Some of their stories were heart breaking both related to how they escaped the war in their nation and how tough was living in refugee camps.

Though these refugees had come to the camps in search of peace and safety, the living conditions were horrible. There was the absence of electricity and running water, and food and drinks were provided to families based on their number of members, and very rarely these refugees got extra food or drinks. Not only that some of the camps were extremely unhygienic and diseases and ailments tuberculosis were rampant. Not only that the temperatures were dropping as it was nearing rainy season and even a light drizzle or shower could wet many parts of these campssoak the mud pits in the ground below tents.

Children could not got to school and educate themselves and medical aid was poor. Seeing these conditions, I was lost for words. It was appalling. I prayed to God that he should help these refugees in all ways by ending the war in their homeland and send these refuges back to their homeland safe and sound. This experience of mine thought the value of life, especially, what God has given me, and how blessed I was and I should not be cribbing for trivial and small things in life.

We should be content when life is kind to us, and thank God each day for keeping us happy despite challenges that we face each day.
