Dear Diary:

Today I got the privilege to attend an exhibition on Incredible India at Park Plaza organized by the Tourism Ministry of India. The objective of the Exhibition was to present India as one of the most beautiful touristic destination among foreign as well as local tourists. Even I did not know my country has so many beautiful and unique tourist places. The colurful posters, the audio-visual presentation on various places such as Goa, the Golden Triangle, Rajasthan, Ooty, Keala, Himachal, North East along with the tourism statistics were fantastic. I was so proud to know that India has emerged as the fastest-growing market in the world. I was impressed to know also the growth and expansion of tourism facilities in the country. The foreigners have given satisfactory ratings to the ‘‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ campaign. I strongly feel the Indian Government must continue the Incredible India campaign to give more impetus to the growth and development of the tourism. More local people should be involved so that the tourists feel quite at home and safe while visiting India. We must remember the huge amount of foreign exchange earned through tourism is quite essential for making the Indian economy more robust and resilient.

Today was one of the most memorable days of my life as I was a part of the exhibition organised by our class on the day of National Tourism Day. We named the exhibition 'Incredible India' and it coincided with our Open House day. We earned appreciation of all the parents who visited the exhibition.

We organised stalls for Best Tourist Destinations, Tourism and Career Opportunities, Contribution of Tourism in Indian Economy and Tourism - Different Facets. All of them spoke volumes about the efforts and hard work put in by us.

I had butterflies in my stomach when I first stood at my stall, Tourism and Career Opportunities, for I was apprehensive about what visitors could ask and what if I was not able to answer well.   However, everything went on well as I could answer the visitors' queries satisfactorily. My friends were also doing well in their stalls.

The high point of the day was when the Chief Guest, Mr. D. Jeena applauded us. How gratifying it was!
