Metallic solids:
Metallic solids are the “solids that are made up of metal atoms” which are held together tightly by metallic bonds.
These bonds are large molecular orbitals that span across the entire solid and therefore in metallic solids electrons are delocalised and appear almost everywhere. Metallic solids are malleable as well as ductile. These have a “high melting and boiling point”.
A distinguished feature of metallic solids is that these are good conductors of electricity in the solid as well as molten state.
