Subject: Pitiful condition of farmers leading to suicides


Today, I am sending you this letter with utter shame and disgust at the pathetic condition in which the farmers of our country survive. They are the source of our livelihood but it is a matter of great concern that government is paying no heed to their necessities, compelling them to commit suicides.


It is a matter of grief that a farmer has no money and no food to sustain his family for an entire day, let go of education and health. They are the base of our economy. How can we neglect their requirements? The buffer stock and finance for such extreme conditions go in vain because of the high level of corruption at the higher levels.


I want to highlight this issues through the esteemed columns of your newspaper that it is a matter of utter dismay that in our country, people lose faith and commit suicides for not being able to eat two square meals a day.
