An Indian Barber

Introduction-

A barber is a very common man. He may be seen

anywhere. We need a barber from our birth to death. A village barber earns his bread by shaving people. He is a part of Hindu social life. A barber starts his work early in the morning. He goes out with his shaving box. He has scissors, combs, a shaving brush, old razors, a small looking glass and a piece of soap. He keeps all these things in a small wooden bose. He also carrics a peace of dirty cloth. He shaves his customers in the village everybody.

Own way of working-

A barber has his own way of shaving. His

implements are old. He wraps the dirty piece of cloth round the neck of the.customer. He then gives him the small looking glass to see his face when the customer is ready he starts his work. He sharpens the old razor. He then takes his brush and applies soap to the customer. He starts shaving soon after it. In case of hand shaving, the customer gets angry. The barber also at times makes cuts and wounds. If he gives a good shave, the customer is pleased. He pays his due 'gladly.

Dependence on barber-

-A village barber serves the public. Most of the villagers depend upon the barber for shaving. The village barber goes to them every third or fourth day for their shaving. The barber has contact with many families in the village. Generally a village barber is not paid in cash. He is paid grains. His charge is really very low. Sometimes we can find a barber sitting under a tree at some public place. His relationship with

the public is very good.

A poor man—

The village barber is a very poor man. He lives a hard life. His income is very small. Villagers themselves are not in a portion to help the barber. He has to do something to earn money. He is turning to farming or business or service. Some barber's have their saloons in towns,.They are better off. Even if a village earns some money if there is a marriage or sradh in the village. In spite of all that he is very poor man. His life is miserable. But he is useful member of society. We must try to improve his life.
