Yes, I misjudge Thompson

I met a man at the swimming pool when I was 12 years old. His name is Thompson; he was tall, dark and handsome. I approached him and from there we became friends.

After about 2 years of friendship, Thompson asked me out and we went into a relationship. Thompson always proffers his love for me and I know for sure that I loved him too.

Our relationship became stronger to the extent that we couldn’t keep it away from the public. Because we are always around each other, my mum also got to know about our relationship.

One morning, my mum called me and claimed that she knew Thompson very well.  I was shocked but at the same time very eager to know my mum’s opinion about Thompson.

My mum told me Thompson had a wife abroad and he was only into the relationship to hurt my feelings. I felt very bad because my mum had never lied to me. As a result of this, I decided to end my relationship with Thompson.

Unfortunately, I later found out that all the things my mum told about him were not correct and I had to blame myself for misjudging Thompson. It was a horrible experience.

Anexperience that you went through when you misjudged someone and then realised your fault:

Once I was doing my homework when the son of my kamwali Masi came in.

I had an exam in two days and was not really pleased to see him.

Mummy said that his father is not at home and her mother can not leave him home alone.

He was wearing some old torn pants with dirty clothes.

By the looks of it, he most probably hadn't had a bath in a week.

He was sitting on the floor while I was doing my work.

He left with his mother at around 4pm.

After he left I noticed that one of my key rings was missing.

I thought he might have stole it.

I told my mummy but she asked me to searched my room before accusing somebody.

After searching I found it under my table.

I was so ashamed.

Next day when he came I asked him to sit on the chair and talked to him.

After talking I understood he comes second in his class.

I gave him some chocolate and told him to come to me if he ever needs any help.

That day I understood never judge anyone by their attire.
