Write a Essay on Robbery in a bus you were travelling.

I was standing towards the center of the bus when all of a sudden I saw a man standing towards the front put his hand into the pocket of another person in front of him. Silently, he took out the man’s purse and put it into his pocket. As the bus was packed, I could not call out to the person who was being robbed.
When the ticket conductor came to give the ticket, the man put his hand to take his purse to give the money. To his shock, he found it missing. The ticket conductor thought that he was playing a trick to get away without paying. He started shouting at the passenger and asked him to get off the bus right then. The conductor also whistled for the driver to stop the bus.
I could take it no longer. I tapped the person standing a few feet before me and asked him to call the conductor. When the conductor looked towards me, I requested him to come near me. In a low voice, I told him what I saw. The conductor nodded his head meaningfully and went to the person who had pickpocketed the purse. He then asked him if he could spare some money to buy a ticket for his co-passenger. Unsuspectingly, the pickpocket agreed and put his hand into his pocket to take his own purpose. Accidentally, the stolen purse also came out with it. The person identified his purse and showed the conductor his photo inside it to prove that the purse was indeed his.
By now, almost everyone standing or sitting near the pickpocket came to know of everything. They demanded that he be taken to the police station immediately. However, the person whose purse was stolen asked the conductor to give him a second chance and just make him get off the bus. Since the concerned person himself had no complaint, the conductor agreed to do what he said. All the passengers near the pickpocket took this opportunity to push him off the bus.
I had just returned from three India, including some areas where pick pocketing occurs frequently, but as I had taken precautions, I was never a victim. On my way home I stopped over in Vancouver BC to visit a friend for several days. On the first night I went to a neighborhood convenience store only to find my wallet gone when I got back to my friend’s home. I recalled being bumped by an apologetic young woman just after I had paid for my purchase, so I immediately jumped in the car and returned to the convenience store, where there was no sign of her. So I began driving about the neighborhood and spotted her hurrying down a side street. I stopped the car and before I could say a thing, her eyes widened and she exclaimed, “I don’t have it!” Bingo. I knew I had the right person. I told her that I would hold her for the police and charge her if I did not get my wallet back. She could keep the Rs40 or so that was in it, but I wanted the wallet (with debit and credit cards and about Rs 800 in travelers checks) back. She then showed me where she had thrown the wallet beneath a dumpster and I recovered it. Cheap payment for its return and for an education, I thought.
