There are a huge numbers of wild animals and plants in India. .Among those, various animals and plants are becoming extinct. The major reasons behind the extinction are poaching, loss of habitat and food and environmental pollution. To protect the wild life from extinction, the Government has taken several steps. The diverse wild lives of India are preserved in approximately 18 Bio-reserves, 120 national parks and almost 500 sanctuaries throughout the country.
