Helen Keller was very inquisitive as a child. Though she had lost her sight and hearing she used to reach out to everything, was fascinated by people and was in constant gestural communication with her mother and family members.

When her teacher Sullivan explained the meaning of 'water' at the well Hellen understood the meaning and was very happy. She realized that everything had a name. So she begged her teacher to label every object she could think of. She wanted to satisfy her inquisitive mind and gain a greater and more specific tool of language to communicate with other people.
