Dear Sir,
SUB: Suggested steps to sensitise people towards animals
I humbly request you take steps to improve the attitude of public towards animals and also help establish animal care health centres at key points for better animal care. It is the need of the hour.
Animal welfare is an environmental issue as it plays a crucial part in the natural cycle and sustenance. Our earth, our health, our future is dependent on them. The wellbeing and care of the animals will lead to our wellbeing. Lack of care and cruelty to animals will only lead to irreversible impact on our economy, environment and public health.
Many welfare organisations do their part to improve animal care and conduct education programmes and are involved in many issues for better care of animals. But I regret to say this has been not enough to make an impactful difference. We need government’s active participation along with the community to further improve conditions relating to animal care.
Government should establish more veterinary centres and come up with plans for educating general public in animal care through bold posters at key places, toll numbers of health centres for reaching out in an emergency, stringent rules and punishment for cruelty of animals etc.
I would appreciate a positive response to this initiative and look forward to your cooperation to make our country and the world, a better and safer place to live.
