Saurav :- Hi friends! Let me introduce the today's topic for a discussion that should valentine's day be celebrated? This topic becomes a hot one more particularly when the 14th February nears as it is celebrated on the day every year.

Priyanshu:- Fine! We should discuss it. But I have no idea how this celebration kicked off I shall be more interested if any of us describes it so that our concept should be clear.

Goldy :-Oh! Sure, I can say, Something about it the history of valentine's Day is shrouded in mystery. There is a legend behind it....

Goldy :-OH! Please have patience. Why do you get so excited ? I was just going to tell you. That the legend goes like this. Long long ago there was a saint- says pope- in Rome. His name was valentine and during the period there was a rule of the Emperor Cloudius who decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families. Hence such a rule was enacted that soldiers had to be bachelors. But one of his soldiers Fell in love with a girl. The lover and the love approached the saint valentine who performed marriage for the couple, defying the king cloudius. This massage reached the king who ordered that the saint be put to death. Hence, in memory of st. Valentine and to keep the spirit of love alive, Valentine's Day is celebrated throughout the world.

• On Valentine's Day People do a show off of their love in public? Which is not acceptable to our society and traditions?

• Valentine day is propaganda of western capitalist society which wants to celebrate all those days where people can come out to shopping malls and spend money.

Conclusion

• Valentine's Day is like other festivals where one can show his/her love to dear ones. People should celebrate it gracefully. It is not affecting our traditions and culture.
