Fly Trouble
Child: Yes, ma'am, I had a doubt. What are the ways in which India is– AMMA! Stop it! You're going to give my legs pneumonia!
Mother: Son, whaaaaaat? Just mopping the floor. See how dirty this whole house looks!
Child: Ugh! Dad– tell mom to give me some privacy or I will move to the Himalayas.
Mother: TINGU! GO BATH! I have been putting up with those flies for almost a month now! Shoo!
Child: What– these? They are very friendly, mom. They buzz, they eat, that's all. I don't want them gone!
Mother: FRIENDLY! OH, SURE THING! Those heralds of death! Our food is like a loo to them, isn't it?
Child: Hey, mom. Not a word against them. NOT A WORD!
Mother: I'm going to come back in 10 minutes after chit-chatting with our neighbor. If I see another fly droning around your head after that, I will commit homicide on you before you can even say Jack Robinson!
Three hours later...
Mother: Look at all the stuff Mrs. Batra gave me! These jalebis and laddus are so appetizing. How sweet she is! And look at this brat. Tingu! Where are you lost in this tiny little house? Come here and help me for god's sake!
Child: Coming!!!!
Mother: Mmm, that tastes so good. Oh, I think I'm going to melt into the sweetness of these. Mmm... AAAARGH! ACK! ICK! OWWWWW!
Child: What happened, mom?
Mother: BLECH! WHACK! THWHACK!
Child: 9-1-1. 9-1-1. Um, I don't have a phone. Are you okay, mom?
Mother: BLECHH! A fly? What is it doing in my throat, flying? ACKKKK!
Child: Gross!
Mother: Yeah, gross! What did I say I would do if I see another fly around your head?
Child: There is none now. They all abandoned me, see!
Mother: Oh, yes, I see very well. And– BLECH! – when did they abandon you?
Child: How sad. The moment YOU came back, mom!
Mother: The moment YOU came, I knew it was total trouble! Go bath, now– ACKKK! – before I lose my temper!
Child: O-okay.
Conversation Writing
This is a writing skill where there are at least two speakers, communicating and having a discussion. Note here that:
- While writing the conversation, you write the speaker's name, a colon and then the dialogue.
- You assign such dialogues to them that it justifies the topic to be written about and also grabs the reader's interest.
