I hope this letter finds you in great spirits and sound health. As you know I had been visiting Rishikesh, I had a great time there. First time in my life I felt the ecstatic tranquility in the lap of nature.  We had stayed at an Ashram of ascetics. Actually my father is a disciple of the spiritual Guru of that Ashram. It has all the modern facilities; but the ascetics don’t use them. Only the families of disciples living in cities are allowed to avail them when they visit the Ashram.

The Ashram is situated on the banks of Holy Ganges. Our room had a breathtaking view of the river and the mountains beyond. Every morning we would take bath in the Ganges’s chilling water. After the bath, we would attend a morning service in the Ashram’s temple. The entire stay was so divinely peaceful. One particular moment I would like to share with you that touched my soul.

One morning, before the sunrise, we were taking bath in the river; beyond the river was a tall, green mountain. As I stood knee-deep in the river, I saw a divine view. On the tip of the mountain beyond the opposite bank, I saw as if a diamond shining very brightly. I could not take my eyes off the tip. Slowly, the diamond became bigger and bigger; soon I realized it was the sun rising. I had never seen the beauty of sunrise in the city ever. Owing to pollution and the clutter of buildings, we hardly see the sun’s beauty when it rises every day. My entire family was wonderstruck! How is life at your end? Give my warmest regards to uncle and aunt.
