Dear Mom,

Subject: Garbage Segregation

How are you? I am doing great here. Is dad's health better now?
Yesterday, in our biology class, Santosh sir taught us about the benefits of waste segregation. He told us that by separating wastes that were biodegradable and non-biodegradable, we were not just helping the corporation workers who come to collect the waste but society as a whole. That is when I remembered that we never segregate waste back home and thought I would tell you about what I had learnt.
He told us that by segregating the waste, we could now decide what to do with each one separately for effective waste management. With the rise in waste, it was necessary for us to reuse this waste howmuchever we can. The biodegradable waste, once separated, can be filled in a compost pit or used as manure for the garden. The paper waste can be sent for recycling. This way, our planet would be cleaner and greener.
I hope you will keep what I told you in mind and encourage dad and Sudhir to segregate waste as well. That's it for now.
Convey my best wishes to everyone at home.

Lots of love,
Reena
