My dear Cousin Seema,
Received your letter on 7th June. You have asked me about my experience in N.C.C. camp for first time. There are total fifty cadets in our school in N.C.C.
They all are recruited from our school from class 9th to 12th. I had been to a seven day N.C.C. camp in outskirts of my home town. There is a trained N.C.C. teacher in our school, who was with us and supporting staff of the school was also with us. He has provided us efficient training. In the N.C.C. camp, all the cadets had to wake up at 5 AM everyday, exercise for one and half hour and then take bath, eat breakfast, participate in some drill related activities, eat lunch at 1 PM. Then after two hours of rest, at 3:30 PM, we had to take up an allocated activity for our school (ranging from pistol shooting to community service - cleaning, bringing water etc.) for one and half hour, take rest in the evening, then participate in cultural program around 7:30 PM. Then at 8:30 PM, we had to eat our dinner and after the dinner we had to go to sleep. We were strictly instructed not to go out of our camps in the night.
It was my first ever experience of an N.C.C. camp. It was very exciting and fun-filled. By the end of seventh day when we came out of our camp, our instructor teasingly asked if we wanted to stay for seven more days and we said, 'why not' ? That learning, and the confidence gave me to face difficult situations in life.
Convey my regards to Uncle and Aunt & love to Vinay. Hope to see you soon.
