When I was in 4th grade, in Canada, we had this mailing contest called “The Great Canadian Mail Race,” where students from schools all over the province would write a letter to another student in a different Canadian province.
My 4th-grade teacher introduced us to this mailing contest since she said it will be fun to meet someone new. I remembered feeling excited to write a letter to someone I do not know. It is like writing a letter to an anonymous pen pal!
Being an eager 4th grader, I started writing my first letter and my interests:

Dear Ravi,
It’s been a long time since we me t or spoke. We don’t even have a lot of ways to communicate with each other. I hope you’re fine. I am writing this letter to you to enquire about your health and your life.
The last time we me t was two years back as we finished school together. After that I shifted to another city to complete my class 12 studies and so I lost touch with everyone. But you were always my best fri end and will be. I know we haven’t spoken for a long time and I am really sorry about it. I am fine here and have passed my ISC board exams with 96%. What are you studying nowadays? How much did you score? What are you planning to study in future? Which colleges are you trying to get admitted to?
