How would you describe your first experience at cooking?
It's hard to remind when it was the ist time. I will try to recall as I will write this answer. Being a child I used to prepare tea for my mother and my grand-maa. You mayn't consider it as cooking but when people say they cook maggi, I give them a rough look and pat my back for cooking tea at an age of 12+. My mother used to complain about my tea but grandmaa never complained. She in fact used to tell my mother that "I prepare tea better than anybody else." The trick was, my grandmaa liked sugar like anything and after preparing tea I used to add two more spoons of sugar. That's it, the best tea in the world is ready.
A long gap has come after that childhood acts. Now when I am doing a job in chennai and facing food problems I have started cooking by my own. I stay with one of my friends. Ist time when I cooked chicken, the review I got was, "yar ye to daal jaisi lag rahi hai, hey, it tastes like dal." That was frustrating. I have read many cooking tips after that and then after 10 days I again cooked chicken. I also relished my cooking on that day and with mutual discussion we came to a conclusion that chicken was delicious on that day. So I standardized that method of cooking.
I am now planning to start cooking sweets like rasogolla and sandesh. Yesterday only I checked these two recipes and this weekend I will prepare either of the sweets.
