SUB: ABOUT RECKLESS DRIVING OF PUBLIC VEHICLES
Sir,
Through the column of your esteemed daily I would like to ventilate my deep concern about the careless driving of the public vehicles on the road. Here it is.
Reckless driving has become a great problem for the common life at present. It is a new threat to the us. Drivers of buses, lorries and private cars are often found to compete with each other without having any reason. The pedestrians who walk on the footpath or cross a road, feel danger in every step. Fatal accidents occur for the carelessness of the drivers and we face the death of many Innocents. Violation of the traffic rules is a common matter in India and this is the most terrific reason of those accidents. The government has introduced “safe drive, Save life” programme; but few people take it seriously. They don’t hesitate to drink wine while they know that they will drive. Police department is undoubtedly aware of this. But they are now acting as Innocent as most of them are corrupted. So, where will the general public go? Only the higher authorities are dependable and for this we request them to take proper action necessary for solving the problem .

Subject: Rash and Reckless Driving by the People
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of the general public and the concerned authorities about the rash and reckless driving by the people in our city.
The fast moving trucks, buses, scooters, bikes, etc. have become a menace to the people of this area, especially the bike riders, who, it seems, neither care for their own lives nor others. The news about the road accidents caused due to rash driving is common these days.
There have been many cases of road rage and hit and run incidents, which pose danger to the pedestrians especially the poor, homeless people who sleep on the pavements.
As someone who feels victimised by the reckless driving, I feel that there should be better policing. Besides implementing stricter traffic rules, honest and vigilant officers should be appointed so as to keep a check on chaos and raging drivers on the road. Corrupt officers indulging in giving and receiving bribes should be suspended immediately.
Enforcing speed limits within the city is necessary and so is stricter norms for issue of license. Therefore, whoever violates the rules, must be fined heavily.
The problem can be easily dealt with by spreading awareness about the issue as much as possible and also by taking timely action. Hence, I wish the authorities make a note of the situation and act upon it immediately.
