Answer:

Design & Teach a Course

Make the Most of the First Day of Class

(Loosely based on Lyons et al. 2003)

The first day of class always creates some nervousness, even for seasoned instructors. It helps to have a mental checklist of objectives to accomplish so that you and your students come away with the impression that the course is off to a good start.

The first class meeting should serve at least two basic purposes:

To clarify all reasonable questions students might have relative to the course objectives, as well as your expectations for their performance in class. As students leave the first meeting, they should believe in your competence to teach the course, be able to predict the nature of your instruction, and know what you will require of them.

To give you an understanding of who is taking your course and what their expectations are.

Letter to a friend about experience of online school fest.

Royal Society,

Lucknow.

May 21, 2021.

Dear Rahul,

Hope you are doing well. You must have come across the news of the first online school fest trending on social media nowadays. This event took place at our school and I am one of the proud volunteers who helped in conducting the event.

Being the first online fest, everything was new and had obvious differences from offline events. We thought of unique ideas and prepared everything from available items, as buying wasn't possible. This made our event environmentally friendly.

I felt excited and participated to make it best with lots of zeal and enthusiasm. I also made new friends during the preparations. I participated in an event in the fest as well. I did lot of hard work and was awarded second prize. Do write to me about what you think of our event and my performance as well.

Love,

Mahira.
