The Editor, Indian Express,

Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg,

New Delhi.

Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to invite the attention of the government as well as general public towards the problem of price rising. This menace is assuming alarming proportions now-a-days. If it goes unbridled, life would soon become a nightmare in this country.

Common man watches helplessly at the prices soaring high every day. Even essential commodities like vegetables, fruits, pulses, milk, etc. are getting beyond his reach. Fixed income group are the worst sufferers in this situation as their earnings do not increase in proportion to the rising prices. They have to struggle hard for giving education to their children, meeting daily requirements and fulfilling their social obligations. Life becomes horrible and miserable for them.

A great number of factors are responsible for the growth of this monster. Circulation of black money, hoarding of essential items lack of governmental control over distribution are only a few to name.

It is high time that the authorities woke up to curb this problem and save the common man. They should check the circulation of black money, and evolve & system to regularize distribution of things of daily use. They should also make hoarding of essential items a cognizable offence.

I hope all the concerned would give a serious thought to this problem. Thanking you,

Yours truly,

Ram
