Subject: Need to shift from plastic to paper bags
Dear Sir
I wish to draw the public’s attention to the problem caused by the continued use of plastic bags. Unfortunately a very small percentage of the population understands the potential problems caused by plastic bags. There is an urgent need to understand the seriousness of the issue and take concrete steps.
Though the local authorities try to check the usage of plastic bags, it is important for the common man to shun plastic bags. We, as responsible citizens, need to stop the semi-educated vegetable vendors from using plastic carry bags, by carrying our own cloth bags.We also need to report vendors using plastic bags instead of paper bags. Instead of relying on the government, the common man should come forward and contribute to community policing. If each individual stops and reports the usage of plastic bags, the problem will decrease considerably. It is all about giving up our temporary convenience for a cleaner and a healthier world.
I urge the educated citizens to put their education to good use and help save the world by simply shifting to paper bags and spreading awareness about the same.
