Subject: One wish for my state
Sir:
I am writing to your Excellency to express my one earnest wish for my state. I wish that the board exams for xth and +2 should be cancelled by gazing the corona cases.
The decision was taken in view of the current COVID19 pandemic situation in the country .
For many, the question of conducting or cancelling examinations is a two edged sword. While the cases continue to trample country’s medical infrastructure and give rise to obvious health and safety concerns, academic veracity and process cannot be ignored.
With schools closed for most of the year in 2020, many have questioned the possibility of internal evaluation. While others have cautioned that conducting exams could only worsen the situation at largeParents understand the importance of examinations and have often encouraged students. Teachers too have felt the need of testing students.
And yet, when the number of cases reported daily in the country touch nearly 3 lakhs, the choice of health over academic pursuits and excellence is more than just a choice.
I am hopeful you will look into the concerned problem and take corrective measures.
