Subject: Wastage of wealth and affluence in weddings.

Respected sir,

I am a common resident of Sarita Vihar locality in New Delhi and I would like to draw the kind attention of people towards the sheer wastage of money on weddings in India through your esteemed newspaper. People today have gone almost crazy about having a 'lavish' and 'big-fat' wedding. Even if it is out of their reach they show an inclination towards affording these expenses by borrowing but one fails to understand that what is the need to ruin yourself in debts for mere one night 'lavishness'.

The people attending these weddings are also extravagantly busy in showing off their wealth and class instead of celebrating the love and prosperity of the couple. This has been the major cause of shame and despair for the middle-class ones as they cannot afford such lavish celebrations. Thus, this is to urge all of you that instead of ruining yourself in debts for mere one-night celebration, the marriage should be arranged with all that is available and having a simple and sober wedding that celebrates love instead of wealth and affluence.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

Rohan.
