Dear sharmin,
How are you? I hope you are well. In your last letter you wanted to know about my visit to Z’s house. I am sorry for delay to write you.
You know that during last vacation I paid a visit to Z’s house. It was a great experience for me. Z’s house is about 20 kilometers from my house. I went there by bus and it took me about 1 hour to reach there. Z was waiting in the bus stand to receive me. Their house is beside the stand. We I reached there, his parents cordially received me. I stayed there for two days only. Z’s mother is a very affectionate lady. She made different types of Pithas and other foods for me. I enjoyed them very much. They have a big pond where we swam together. We together played and visited different places. Z has a younger sister who is very sweet. She behaved with me as her own brother. Z’s father bought me a nice dress. I can never forget the memory of this visit.

Dear Sanvi,
I hope you are doing well. I am fine here. I recently visited to the famous Chilika Lake of Odisha. So I thought of sharing my fantastic experience with you. I went there with my family members. We stayed at a hotel which was near the lake. It was already night when we reached there. So, we kept our luggage in our respective rooms, refreshed ourselves and went to have dinner. After having hearty dinner, we all were very tired so we went to our rooms and slept.
The next day, we woke up at 6 to see the beautiful scenery beside the hotel. We could see the Sun rising up to the sky. Then we went for a walk in the hotel’s garden. I felt refreshed and energetic! Then, we went to our rooms, had a bath and got ready to go to the lake.
In the middle of the lake, there was a temple of the Goddess Kalijai. We wanted to visit the temple, so we booked a boat and went to the temple. After we reached there, we went to the Goddess to worship. It was on a island. The importance of the island is a special story connected to this temple. A newly married girl named Jai along with her father was going to her in-laws. As her in-law’s house was on an island in Chilika Lake, they had to take a boat to ferry them across the lake.
As Odisha’s coast is very prone to Cyclones, this boat trip was encountered with a severe Cyclone, as a result their boat sinked in the Chilika Lake. Everyone including the boatman and her father survived but no one could save “Jai”. They searched for her but were unable to find her. After this accidental death of “Jai”, she became the Goddess of people residing nearby and till now, she is worshipped as Goddess Kalijai and this is how the place got its name.
After visiting the temple, we went back to the hotel and had breakfast. Then we started off for our home. It was a memorable trip. I wish I could go to Chilika with you and your family again.
