Sub: To take steps for the control of alarming rise in malaria epidemic in city

Sir,

As a concerned citizen, I want to draw your attention to the alarming rise in malaria cases striking the city once again with full force. Delhi, in spite of being the capital, falls victim to an epidemic every year. It is dengue one year, H1N1 Flu the next, and malaria comes back every summer.

We failed to keep our surroundings clean, free of pollution and suffer from the disease every year. Our corporation has to take proper care of sanitation and garbage disposal in our city. People have to be educated and warned against allowing stagnant water to remain in their surroundings and homes.

I suggest that you train the public through visual aids and mass media about the precautions they have to take. You should not allow jhuggis to grow near construction sites where there is no proper access to clean water and garbage disposal.

I hope you will consider my suggestions.
