Subject: The nuisance of irresponsible use of loudspeakers.
Respected Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily newspaper, kindly allow me to express my views on the insensitive use of loudspeakers (PA Systems) in cities and towns.
First, I am not against the celebration of festivals. In fact festivals are a time of joy everyone look forward to each year. Festivals are a part of our personal, religious, and social life. The problem is not celebration of festivals, but the manner in which it is celebrated. A major problem is the use of loudspeakers and music systems during festival times.
Next, there are restaurants, cafes and night clubs where loud music is played late into the night in the name of birthday celebrations and parties.
This are all public disturbance and another form of noice pollution. This disturbs the sleep of the public. It interfere with the students studying for exams or doing their homeworks. We must also consider the sick people who want quiet time and need to sleep properly.
Therefore, I feel that the use of loudspeakers and loud music should be banned or restricted in residential areas.
