Subject: Issues generated on Diwali that need to be resolved on time.

Respected Sir,

My name is Krysta, a local resident of New Delhi. Through the segments of your regarded daily paper, I want to draw some consideration of the concerned experts about the issues raised in this Diwali. We all realize that Diwali is a celebration of lights. Nevertheless, for some people Diwali is intended for gigantic clamor brought by crackers. I wish to illuminate you that the general population here are blasting crackers in spite of being advised not to do as such. Crackers and other blasting materials are dangerous to the Earth. They contain synthetic substances which are not helpful for the air. In the meantime, they are perilous and can cause wounds and burns.

There are number of sensitive kids and elderly folks who live in the region. Other than this, there are various animals such as dogs, cats, birds and cows who wander in the same zone. They can simply get injured by the burning ashes lying everywhere. These individuals have blasted crackers close to the streets which is not safe for the vehicles, either.

I modestly request you to investigate the issue and carry out the needful actions for us. I will be exceptionally thankful for this support.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Krysta Cort.

Subject: Diwali celebration without crackers

Sir,

The Supreme Court has passed an order that only environmental friendly lightings or green crackers will be allowed. But people are ignoring both the law and the adverse consequences of bursting crackers especially during Diwali.

Diwali is a meaningful festival. It signifies victory of good over evil and light over darkness. Celebration of Diwali is not wrong but the manner in which it is celebrated is wrong.

Bursting crackers are hazardous to human and the environment. When bursting crackers, the smoke of hazardous gasses are released and pollute the air causing respiratory diseases.

Children are more vulnerable to the toxic substances of crackers and air pollution.

During Diwali Festival excessive bursting of crackers results in thick smog in many cities. This causes breathing problems to the people. Road accidents occurred due to poor visibility because of thick pollution of the air. Many flights are also cancelled.

Apart from the pollution of the air, crackers cause noise pollution which disrupts the sleep of children and infants, the old and the sick, and may also results in hearing problem. The pollutants from crackers cause the dead of birds and animals. The loud bursting sound can be traumatic to our pets and other animals.

Diwali is the festival of lights. We can celebrate it without the disturbance of loud bursting crackers. Diwali is a beautiful festival with all the decorative lights. We don't need to burst harmful crackers. Therefore let us all go green and say "No" to crackers during Diwali celebration. Together we can make a difference by keeping our environment healthy and safe for us to live in.

Yours sincerely,

S.M. KUMAR
