15th August, is a day when the entire country comes together and celebrates not just our independence but also pays homage to the untold sacrifices by our brave soldiers and freedom fighters. At Anand Vidyalaya, the feelings of reverence and enthusiasm being no less, as our children eagerly prepare to commemorate this day with the long line-up of activities.
To commemorate the day, Anand Vidyalaya centres country-wide, saw enthusiastic children partake in a host of fun & exciting activities such as coloring competition, fancy dress competition, slogan writing, movie shows, plays etc. On the other hand, the children also engaged in some thought provoking events and actions. At the Gurgaon centre, they showed their compassion towards Mother earth by taking up the responsibility of planting trees to save nature, while others collected all reusable stationery items, books, toys etc. to help the lesser privileged thus reinforcing the value of giving back. One event in particular struck a chord within each one of us..Kids of Ludhiana centre organized a cultural event on the topic of what does freedom mean to you. One of the kids said 'free like wind'' and shared it was special because it's pure and overcomes obstacles! What a profound thought..indeed left us thinking.
