Subject: Helmets being not worn by two-wheeler riders
Sir:
I am writing this letter to your good self to express my deep concern over the issue of people not wearing helmets while riding their two-wheelers. Every day thousands of people get injured in road accidents, and many get seriously injured owning to not wearing helmets.
Recently I saw an accident in which the rider of a bike whose head was crushed by a bus. If the rider had been wearing helmet, he could have been saved.
I wonder why people are reluctant to such an integral life-saving equipment. The Government has tried many ways to popularize wearing helmets by making laws, issuing notices, and advertising. In spite of the Government’s efforts people continue to flout helmet wearing rules.
Through the medium of your esteemed daily I appeal to the Government authorities to make stricter rules and laws and implement them strictly. I also appeal to people to wear helmets while riding their two-wheelers. Kindly give my views enough space in your reputed daily.
