Subject: Urgent need for a Government Hospital

Dear Sir,

The district of Udupi is in urgent need of a government hospital to cater to the residents of this district. At present there is only one primary health centre in this huge district, with a minimal staff of doctors, nurses and other administrative staff.

The district covers an area of over one hundred square mile sand a huge population of over 5 million. In case of illness the sick have to travel long distances to reach this health centre, alternately they have to pay exorbitant fees at private nursing homes, and may still not get the desired treatment.

Please ensure modern facilities, like CT Scan, Ultrasound, MRI Scan and operation theatres are included in the new hospital. Qualified doctors, nurses and other staff are available 24 hours with emergency facilities. A well equipped medical store with medicines for all ailments are easily available. All this will bring relief and the required medical treatment to our residents and ensure a healthy society. Please treat this request as urgent.

Thank you,

Yours truly,

Sonali

Explanation:

Dear Sir,

As a resident of Badarpur, I would like to draw your attention to the dire need of a hospital in our

district.

The poor and the middle-class people are suffering due to the lack of a fully equipped hospital.

Every time there is an epidemic (and they occur regularly,) People have to rush to Delhi for

medical aid. How many of us can afford the expenses? The local hospitals have acute shortage of

medical facilities and the lack of fully trained doctors to cope with even ordinary diseases. Every

summer there is an epidemic – cholera, malaria, chickenpox etc .Two years ago, when Dengue

fever was raging, my district suffered a great loss of life. Sir, I do hope this time our please will

not be in vain. During election, every candidate makes big promises but nothing materializes.

We will be grateful if you would immediately start the proceedings for a properly equipped

government hospital in Badarpur.

Yours faithfully,

Suhdir Pandey
