Subject: Poor quality of TV programmes telecast by Doordarshan Kendra, Mumbai

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am very sorry to inform you that the quality of TV programmes telecast by Mumbai Doordarshan Kendra is very poor. Due to this, viewers are compelled to view other channels’ telecast or to switch off their sets. For the greater part of the evening, most viewers choose the first option.

One can understand your difficulty in having to cater to a very vast and varied category of viewers. But surely, whatever programme you telecast, you can make every effort to give the best possible fare.

I, therefore, request you to take the necessary steps to give your viewers the best quality programmes, be they interviews, talks, dance, music, sports, plays, educational programmes or feature films. Your channel will then regain its lost glory.

Yours faithfully,

XYZ

Answer:

It would be much appreciated if you would take note of the above mentioned complaint and change the outlook of the programmes that are being telecast. I would suggest adding on some variety in the programmes by introducing some Quiz/G.K.programme, comedies, cookery shows, interviews, and some educative programmes to make the channel more interesting.

I am sure that this letter will not go unheeded. We sincerely look forward to better aired programmes in future.

Yours sincerely

Shraddha Nigam
