"To the District Forest Officer, Mukundapur,

Sir,

I am writing this letter to tell you about the Van Mahotsav that has been organised by our school.

On the auspicious day, we plan to plant a lot of trees in order to make our school a greener place in. We request you to grace the event with your presence.

I am also writing this letter to inquire about the availability of saplings. I request you to please send us a list of saplings available for planting, so that we may plant them on the day of the festival.

Regards,

Sovan."

Respected Sir/Madam,

I’m writing this letter in the capacity of NSS student coordinator of ABC College. I’m glad to inform you that in our college we celebrate Vana Mahotsava every year on a large scale to create awareness among students about the value of natural resources.  However, we are never sure whether we are planting the right kind of trees and whether we take good care of them. Hence, we seek your help and guidance. We would like to know which plants grow easily and fast. We would also like to know how you would be sending the plants once we place an order. More importantly, we would like to have an idea of the cost involved for different types of plants. Could you please provide us with all the information keeping in mind what types of plants would grow In the Bangalore climate. As we don’t have many days left for the Vana mahotsava, we would appreciate an early reply.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully

Rama Krishna
