Dear Sir,
I wish to draw your kind attention and through you that of your valued readers of the irreparable harm the citizens of this country are causing to the earth.
It is time we stopped using plastic bags to carry or wrap our goods and shopping. Plastic is not bio-degradable and, therefore, chokes our drains and flies around the place, without ever mixing into the earth, as a result of which flooding takes place. This causes a lot of distress during the rains.
We must also forbid the use of bio-fuels for cooking. As poorer sections of the people use this mode for preparation of food, the Government must increase the subsidy on cooking gas for these people with a view to clearing the environment of smoke. The harm to the environment is felt most during winter.
One other thing requires immediate attention. Diesel and petrol should be completely banned as motor fuel; these should be completely replaced by CNG.
I shall be pleased if through a series of articles you highlight these issues so that our country becomes a better and healthier place to live in.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully

Dear Sir,
I am quite keen to highlight the harm we are causing to the earth. Technological advances and mankind's senseless usage of natural resources are leading to pollution in our surroundings which harm the people as well as animals. Noise pollution is also an add-on caused by automobiles, machines, and loudspeakers. Sea-life has also been ruined because chemicals are thrown into water bodies.
Furthermore, the usage of plastic bags is also a big concern, because they block drains and release toxic fumes when burned. Deforestation leads to polluted air to breathe in. The government should take precautionary measures to conserve nature and check pollution.
Afforestation can be done and taxes can be implemented on keeping more than one car, that will lead to a controlled use of vehicles which will result in low air pollution. Other precautionary measures need to be taken to conserve nature and check pollution. Recycling and reusing should also be done in order to avoid pollution.
I raised a very serious issue and I will be highly thankful if a notice of this can be taken and this concern reaches a large population.
Sincerely,
Rahul Agarwal
