Subject: The urgent need of a public library.
Sir,
Through your esteemed newspaper I would like to express my observation of students and the urgent need of a public library in this locality.
With the coming of mobile phones, students are losing the joy of reading. A decade ago we might find lots of students whose hobby is reading. But those golden days are gone.
It is also noticed that the students do not read their text books but would rather use their mobile phones to seek answers to questions. This is not the proper way to study. They need to know that text books are printed after much deliberation and researches.
In order to revive the habit of reading, it is necessary to have a public library where students can go and study both text books and reference books. With encouragement by teachers, parents and the general public this is possible.
I hope the Education Department and those in authorities will think about this solemnly and come up with a solution soon.
Yours sincerely,
