I am a firm believer that innocent animals should not be sacrificed for testing. Every year, millions of animals are subjected to physiological and psychological suffering when used in scientific and commercial testing. The majority of the animals are euthanized once the experiments are completed. Most experiments used on animals are not relevant to human health and do not contribute to understanding medical advances. Many tests are conducted out of curiosity rather than to serve an actual purpose. The importance of animals in testing is exaggerated by the media, lobbyists, and experimenters. In reality, animals are subjected to pain and suffering every day for meaningless testing. Although many people support animal testing, animals should not be used for scientific and commercial testing. I urge companies to use better means of experimentation in order to test their products. By doing so, thousands of animal and human lives will be saved. Alternatives such as in vitro testing, three-dimensional human skin models, and artificial organs produce more accurate and reliable results. These alternatives also do not require hundreds of thousands of animals to be psychologically and physiologically tortured or even killed. Why should companies continue to use animals when they do not produce the most reliable products, cost more than alternative methods, and are inhumane? We as consumers cannot continue to support companies that use animals to test their products. We know that there are more efficient ways of testing rather than torturing poor animals by burning, poisoning, drilling, starving, cutting, and killing them. So why continue to support companies who do use animals? If we do not stand together to stop animal testing, then thousands of innocent animals are going to continue to be subjected to both physical and psychological suffering. Rather, we should support the thousands of companies that do not use animal testing for their products.

RE:ANIMAL SACRIFICES IN OUR COUNTRY.
Dear editor, kindly allow me convey my dissatisfaction towards what has been going on in our country lately, animal sacrifices. It is so sad that human kind has lost its sense of humanity. We are sacrificing animals day and night, what will remain in the parks? Have we thought about what will happen to our tourism sector? What will we tell our grand kids? This is tradition that we are supposed to embrace but instead we are killing these animals left right and center. It is wrong and Government should come up and condemn this act.
