Subject: Massive Outbreak of Dengue Due to Lack of
Cleanliness
Sir:
I am writing to you to express my deep concern and anguish
over the very critical issue of insanitary condition in Patparganj caused by
watter logging after the rains. Our locality is a literal hell of squalor,
garbage heaps, broken roads, overflowing manholes, stagnated water, and reeking
smell. As a result malaria, dengue,
Chikanguniya, and viral fever are quite rampant at the outset of the autumn
season. The outbreak of these fatal diseases has already taken heavy toll in our
locality.
The inefficiency of Municipal authorities is so hopeless; in
spite of repeated requests, reminders and complaints, no action has been taken
to relive us of our distress. Through the medium of your esteemed daily I
appeal to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and take speedy
measures to bail us out of our plight. I also appeal to the people not to take
any fever lightly. Dengue is accompanied by constant high fever, body ache,
shivering, and incessant restlessness.
In case of the above mentioned symptoms, the qualified doctor must be
consulted. People must keep their bodies fully covered and must not allow any
stagnation of water. I hope you will give my views some space in your reputed
daily. Thanking you.
Yours truly,
Sumit
