Subject: Need to preserve the glory of mountains
Sir:
I am writing this letter to bring to the notice of people as well as the Environment Ministry the need of preserving the glory of mountains. Mountains are the life line of any region. They play a crucial role in bringing rains to a particular region. For example the majestic Himalayan Range is indispensable for bringing monsoon rains to the entire northern Indian plains.
Apart from bringing rains, they are
the source of all the perennial rivers flowing in India as well as all parts of
the world. The snow melting in summer forms the rivers that give life to
billions of people throughout the year.
The forest on mountains provide oxygen to the people living in a particular area. Crucial dams are constructed between mountains that provide power generation and optimal water management.
They are the most significant source of tourism. So many people are employed in tourism industry.
Hence, the people and Government must maintain and conserve the glory of mountains.
I appeal to the Environment Ministry to take measures to conserve mountains.
