Subject: Neglect of other sports due to cricket
Sir:
I am writing this letter to express my deep concern over the issue of neglect of other sports due to cricket in our country. Our country people appear to be inordinately enthusiastic and passionate about cricket. The entire focus of all sponsors, creating facilities, and infrastructure is towards cricket primarily.
As a result other sports are neglected; hence, India has not achieved much in the field of other sports. In football, athletics, gymnastics, badminton, lawn tennis, hockey, boxing, etc., our players have not been able to achieve much. If similar attention is paid to other sports, our players can do equally well in other sports also.
I appeal to the Government and people to look into it and promote other sports as well. More facilities must be provided for all the sports. I hope you will give enough space to my views in your esteemed daily.

This letter is an expression of my concern for an article "Focus in India is on cricket and neglect other sports" in your magazine. India is a county which excels in cricket at the highest level with many supporters all over the country. The passion for the game is never going to end as India is a firm domination in the game of cricket. But, there are also other sports like football and hockey which is the national game of India needing the support and participation. Indian sports are gradually developing in every sport and will reach achieve better if they are given the support. The article may support cricket but also is a demotivating factor to other sports. There are people who is not only passionate about cricket but also other sports in India. The people would love if the country's sport developed in every game and not only in the game of cricket. Finally, I am requesting you to publish an article about the development of other sports in India so that it will create awareness to the people.
