Subject: Frequent load shedding for three months in Kailash Colony.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed national newspaper, I would like to express my concern on the crisis of frequent load shedding in Greater Kailash, South Delhi.
I am surprised that in spite of lodging several complaints with the power department, nothing has been done and the locality of Greater Kailash continue to face frequent load shedding for the last three months. Due to this the people of this locality are facing much hardship. It is also very unprofessional and callous that no reason for the load shedding was intimated to the residents.
Further, both parents and their children are very concerned with the frequent power cut as the annual final exams is already underway.
It must also be noted that it is the common people, the low income and hand to mouth groups of people who suffer the most during load shedding because they cannot afford to buy solar panels or generators.
I therefore request the power department and the authorities to look into the matter immediately for remedy. The problem can be minimised by checking and booking those involved in illegal power tapping. The residents of the locality can help by using the minimum power in their homes. Industries and factories should not be allowed to to function due peak hours. The power department must not remain lackadaisical in their duties and the public must use power responsibly to restore uninterrupted supply of power to the locality.
Yours sincerely,
NIRMALA
