Subject :- Consumption of junk food at an alarming rate.

Respected Sir

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to highlight the development of dangerous trend of addiction to junk food among youngsters.

Junk food tempts for various reasons. It is easily available at low prices and is tasty. Children don't know the consequences of the habit of eating junk food on their health. Regular intake of junk food leads to complications like obesity, chronic illness, low self esteem and even depression. Schools should promote healthy habits by keeping a check on food items being sold at canteens. Parents should also not encourage intake of junk food.

I hope my advice and warning will not fall flat on the deaf ears and the people will avoid junk food to check its harmful effects.

Yours faithfully

Subject: Junk foods leading to obesity in teenagers

Sir

I would like to express my views through the space of your esteemed daily regarding the bad effects of junk foods, especially on teenagers.

Teenagers between the age of 12 to 16 become obese nowadays. And the blame should be upon junk foods. Junk foods have become accessible to all kids and they are preferring junk over healthy food. Due to the excessive consumption of foods like pizza, burgers, chips they are gaining weight. Kids are now diagnosed with obesity at such an early age. The companies selling junk food must make people aware of the potentially harmful effects of these foods. Also, parents should regulate the consumption of such foods and not indulge in their kids’ desires. These are the formative years of teenagers and they should focus on building a strong physique and immunity. We must all come forward and be more responsible about buying such foods. We must protect teenagers who are the future of our nation.

I hope my concern will be highlighted and people will take necessary actions.

Yours sincerely
