Subject: Apathetic and pathetic behavior of the police personnel

Sir:

I am writing to your considerate self to express my outrage at the apathetic attitude of police in general. I went to Model Town Police Station to lodge a complaint for my stolen Activa scooter. My scooter had been stolen from outside my house around 8:40 p.m. immediately I went to the local police station to lodge a formal complaint. To my utter shock, I did not find any one on duty there. I was asked by an off duty cop to come the next morning.

Next morning when I reached the station, I again did not find anyone on duty there. After waiting for an hour, a police man came in hurry. I told my story to him. He did not appear to be in earnest to note down my complaint. When I expressed my concern over the indifference being shown to me at the police station, I was further humiliated by the cop on duty. I was snubbed by saying that the police had other important work to do as well.

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I appeal to the concerned authorities to look into the matter. I also want you to raise this issue in your paper so that the police can be made to realize that they are paid salaries from the tax-payers money to ensure their safety. I hope you will give enough space to my grievance in your esteemed paper. Thanking you.

Yours truly,

Aman Singh
