Sub : Complaint against Noise Pollution

Sir,

I shall be much obliged if you kindly allow me to ventilate through the columns of your esteemed daily about my complaint against noise pollution.

Nowadays sound or noise pollution has become one of the greatest problems facing by people. We all are aware about the reasons behind it. Recently, in my locality, reckless us of loudspeakers and microphones on all occasions is rather a severe torture to public life. Merriment can be enjoyed being with limit but when mikes blare out nothing but cheap songs round the clock it becomes intolerable. And besides, as it is a densely populated area, the noise due to traffic, horns is a great problem. It disturbs the students and the patients in neighborhood and the people around have to pass sleepless nights.

I think it is the foremost duty of the authority to take necessary steps to stop such pollution. Besides, a strong public opinion should be created through your editorial column.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

Neha Roy

Air Pollution :-

Air pollution is a curse of the modern age. It is a great problem all over the world. Of late it has attained a dreadful situation. The main reason behind the air pollution is over-Industrialisation. In modern times countless mills and factories have grown up in the country. All these mills and factories give out huge quantities of smoke. Vehicles playing on the road fly dirt and emit poisonous gases. A lot of coal is burnt in thermal stations and household purposes. Thus a large quantity of gases and smoke is thrown out in the air. Smoke containing carbon dioxide causes air pollution. Besides, nuclear explosions during testing contribute to global warming. Thoughtless felling of trees upset the echo-balance of air. As a result people suffer from several lung and heart diseases. People of the cities are the worst sufferer. Air pollution must be checked to save human population. Use of coal and old cars must be banned. More and more trees must be planted. We must keep the air pure for our future generations.

Water Pollution :-

We cannot live without water. But this water is now being polluted throughout the country. If it continues, potable water will be in want. The main cause of the water pollution is the untreated sewage of cities which is directly drained off into the rivers. The chemical waste released from the factories detergent used by households, pesticides washed out from farmland and immersion of idols pollute water. Oil tankers are usually worst at the ports with hot water. Power stations also regularly release hot water into rivers. Dead animals are often thrown into water. Besides, the garbage and plastic packets dumped on the riverbanks glide into water to pollute it. The effect of water pollution on human life is great. The polluted water causes dangerous disease. Aquatic animals and plants are killed. People should be made aware of its danger. Sewage treatment plants must be set up along the course of rivers and dumping of garbage on the river banks should be banned.

Soil Pollution :-

Among environmental pollution soil pollution is one of the dangerous pollution. It is caused by polluted garbage, detergent, chemical waste. The wastage from the chemical factories pollute the soil. In order to increase food production man has used powerful synthetic pesticides and inorganic fertilizers. Such modern farming practices have brought in the Green Revolution but have caused serious soil pollution. The non biodegradable choliranated hydro-carbons like DDT used as pesticides are found in every living plant and animal around the world. Man's impact on environment has reached a state when "pollution" in usual sense is only a part of the problem. His activities now present a grave danger to the entire planet Earth which nourishes and supports us all.
